Teresa
Duke

Teresa Duke is a modern realist artist living and working in the Piedmont region of Northern Virginia. She holds an MFA in painting from George Washington University and has been a teaching artist to students of all ages for over thirty years. Teresa has studied with master portrait artists Daniel Greene and Robert Liberace, as well as landscape master Wolfe Kahn. With her strong interest in human anatomy and how light informs the mood and structure of a subject, Teresa returned to a first love, the figure, during the pandemic. In mixed-media drawings and paintings, she continues to seek the beauty found in the relationships between parts and the whole, and the expressive qualities of the human form.
