Join members of the Blue Ridge Art League and all of us here at The Arts Center in Orange for a display of new artworks in a range of media! The Blue Ridge Art League is located in Culpeper, VA and is a group of enthusiastic artists working in all media and sharing their knowledge with one other.

This event is FREE and open to all. Light refreshments will be served.

49TH ANNUAL ORANGE STREET FESTIVAL
COMMUNITY DAY
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 | 9 AM - 4 PM

Mark your calendars for this year’s Orange Street Festival, organized by the Orange Chamber of Commerce! Our shop and galleries will be open, and we’ll also have beginner-friendly art activities for all ages.

PAINTING THE FIGURE
WITH BECKY PARRISH
$250/PERSON

Led by Becky Parrish, this painting workshop is an opportunity to paint from a live model with a local master! Since 1988, Parrish has worked as a professional artist, exhibiting her work and teaching throughout the US. Some painting experience is recommended, but this class is open to all levels. Please note that this classical workshop will include working from a nude model.
Students under the age of 18 are welcome ONLY with a signed parental consent form (available upon request).

Supply list in advance. There will be a lunch break in the middle of the workshop. Bring a packed lunch or enjoy one of our fabulous local restaurants!

2024 Ceramics Studio Artist in Residence Abed Elmajid Shalabi is now teaching at the University of Mary Washington as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Studio Art Department!

Shalabi’s exhibition, When Tomorrow Arrives We Will Love Life is on view in our Morin Gallery until September 28th. Learn more about Shalabi and his work on his website.

Our 2023 Artist in Residence LaRissa Rogers is also staying local! Rogers worked in our studios in 2023, and completed her residency with us by creating a site-specific installation, Tending to Life, at Imani Works in Orange County, VA in November 2023. Rogers has accepted a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor and Head of the Sculpture department at The University of Virginia starting this fall. On Saturday, November 9, 2024, saddle up for Art’s Night Out in Orange! The Arts Center in Orange’s annual Fishbowl fundraiser supports our programs, classes, and exhibitions all year round. Come hang your hat with fellow art lovers and horse around with local artists. This year’s theme is all about the American West: a symbol of expansion, new horizons, and untapped potential. With your help, it’ll rival the gold rush of ‘49 and fund an entire year of mission-driven programming.
